For many Christians today, the Book of Revelation is a “no-go” area when it comes to reading Scripture. However, an understanding of the apocalyptic genre of literature combined with an awareness of this book’s radical dependence on the Old Testament reveals a work of profound hope with a focus on the person of Christ that can still nourish faith in today’s challenging times. This short module offers a way into this wonderful text for the general reader.
Sean Goan, BA, BD, LSS is a Scripture scholar and retired teacher who has been involved in adult faith development for many years. He has also written commentaries on the Sunday readings and published The Sign: Reading the Gospel of John (2018).
