Module Description

Why is Ukraine important for both Russia and Europe/USA? Have all the possible options to avert the war been tried? Is war the only way? Why have political negotiations failed? Could immense human suffering and increasing animosity between the parties have been avoided? Are there untold reasons behind the Russia-Ukraine War? What about Irish neutrality? What about diplomacy? At whose cost is the war being waged? This lecture series raises some of the fundamental questions about the Russia-Ukraine War with inputs from a range of scholars/activists.

Jude Lal Fernando: Assistant Professor in Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies at the School of Religion and Director of the Centre for Post-Conflict Justice, TCD.
