Module Description

This module on philosophy will examine the following topics: Musonius Rufus on equality, Kant and Wittgenstein on the idea of God, Levinas on the biblical and the philosophical, Hannah Arendt on totalitarianism, and Mary Midgley on why there is trouble over knowledge. Handouts will be given and participants are encouraged to discuss the issues raised as part of the learning process.

Patrick Quinn, PhD, has taught in third-level and adult education for more than 30 years with extensive publications in philosophy and education and a series of programmes on RTÉ radio and television.
