Art, Literature, Spirituality – Brian Dooney

Dates:  22, 29 September and 6 October

Time:    7.00 – 9.30pm (30 mins break)

These 3 sessions will explore different ways in which art and literature can feed the spirit, help us make sense of experience, nurture creativity, offer inspiration and hope in our lives.

Reading and Praying the Scriptures with Leonard Cohen – Seán Goan

Dates:   13, 20, 27 October

Time:     7.00 – 9.30pm (30 mins break)

In this module we will be helped to encounter the God of Scripture using the songs of Leonard Cohen as we face the paradox of believing in a loving God while living in a broken world.  In his songs Cohen used many biblical images and stories of love and life, human frailty and death. We will explore how the word of God can speak to us today offering hope and meaning in difficult times.

Let’s Talk Synod 2 – John Scally

Dates:     10, 17, 24 November, and 1, 8 December

Time:       7.00 – 8.30pm

The Irish Church’s new synodal pathway has been running for a year. This series takes stock of progress to date and considers how the Synod might offer new opportunities for transformation and renewal.  At the heart of the modules are two central questions: What is God saying to the Irish Church at this time? How are we as a Church to journey together in the present and in the future?

Contributions from Bishop Brendan Leahy and Natalie Becquart XMCJ (Vatican General Secretariat for the Synod of Bishops).
