The Christmas Oratorio of Bach is really six closely connected cantatas, each focussing on a significant moment in the birth stories of Jesus from the Gospels. Our module will devote one day to each component cantata, playing close attention not only to the music but also to the interpretative ‘lens’ of both text and music.
