Module Description

Our first meeting will be to discuss what book we might undertake. There are many possibilities and all participants are invited to make suggestions — contemporary Catholicism, biblical studies, perhaps even a book such as Ellen Coyne’s Are You There, God? It’s Me, Ellen. After that, we can discuss how to proceed. Depending on the book, it could be good for people to undertake sections of a chapter and to present a summary and a reaction before opening it to the floor.

Kieran O’Mahony: is an Augustinian friar and a biblical scholar, with particular interest in the letters of St Paul and the Gospel according to John. He taught for many years in the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy (Dublin). Currently, he is publishing a 9-volume series called “Hearers of the Word” on the readings for Advent, Lent and Eastertide. With Jessie Rogers and Seán Goan he is on the team of the newly formed Tarsus Scripture School. For more information visit www.tarsus.ie.
