Module Description

This module in philosophy examines the individual views of the following thinkers in the 20th century, especially during and after World War 2: Jean Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, Gabriel Marcel, and Simone Weil. In addition, Mary Midgley and Jurgen Habermas in the 20th and 21st centuries highlight the importance of those who differ from us and their equality as human beings. Handouts will be given and discussions encouraged.

Patrick Quinn, PhD, has taught in third-level and adult education for more than 30 years with extensive publications in philosophy and education and a series of programmes on RTÉ radio and television.
