Module Description

For new students, there will be a survey of European Art from its origin in ancient Greece and up to mid-19th C. Then we will look, in detail, at topics such as Impressionism to post-Impressionism, Modernism, Women artists from 16th to 20th centuries, the Pre-Raphaelites, and look at individual artists, such as, Michelangelo and Caravaggio. Lectures will focus on helping you make the most of your gallery visits at home and abroad; gallery visit included.

John O’Riordan: BA (UCD) in Art History, English and History, MA in Art History (UCD). He has many years experience of teaching Art History in third level and adult education.
