Module Description

Since the time when St Dominic sold his books to help the victims of a famine, justice has been one of the threads running through the rich tapestry of Dominican life and preaching. This short module looks at justice in the Dominican tradition and introduces some current expressions here in Ireland: supporting mothers in Direct Provision, care of the earth, awareness-raising and advocacy.

Collette Kane OP is the Director of An Tairseach, Organic Farm and Ecology Centre in Wicklow. She taught in secondary schools for over 15 years and holds MAs in Ecology and Religion and in Biblical Studies. As well as being the Director in the Ecology Centre, she is very much part of the teaching staff delivering lectures on the ten weeks bi-annual course entitled Exploring Spirituality in the context of: an expanding universe, an endangered Earth, and the Christian Tradition.
